I have a super talented friend, Wendy Smedley. When I received an email with her new online project I didn't hesitate to jump on board. Wendy has teamed up with Studio Five to help us get our old photos out of the shoebox and into the digital world. I'd love for you to join us!
What is Project Shoebox?
Project Shoebox is the incentive you need to empty that shoebox of old photos. Heirloom photos to forgotten prints, everyone has photos to reclaim and rediscover. The Project Shoebox community, curated and hosted by Studio 5 contributor Wendy Smedley, is a safe place to learn how to archive and share photos, collect old stories, and organize treasured images in a safe place.
The Project Shoebox challenge is simple. Just scan one old photo. Then share it. Collect stories. And feel the satisfaction. You will have created a memory with a memory.
Find our community of Shoeboxers on Facebook. We’ll answer questions, and help you dive into your stash of the past!
Project Shoebox launches at 11am on Studio 5at KSL-TV on January 30th.

This photo is more precious than gold to me. It's me and my Grandpa Clell. I have no idea what year it was taken or what we were doing. What I do know is that it's the only photo I have of just my grandpa and I. My grandfather passed away when I was only in the second grade. I didn't get a lot of time with him but yet I can still remember so many wonderful things about him. I also remember silly things like my Grandma making eggs and bacon for him or that he would take naps in the basement. It's hard to write down in words the love I feel for him. Now this photo no longer only lives in a picture frame, it's on my phone and my computer.
Now I challenge you to dig out an old photo and get it scanned in, you'll be so happy you did.
I love our new Princess fabric collection! The pinks and gray jump right out to me. This line was recently featured in the Winter issue of Quilt Trends magazine. I am so excited about the new line that I thought it would be fun to give you a free quilt pattern. It's a great quilt for beginners, it may look complicated but it's a very easy disappering nine patch quilt. The Princess fabric is available here on our website. Happy Sewing! And don't forget to share your finished projects at www.facebook.com/adornit
I LOVE our Christmas pajama tradition. Every year our elf, BOB brings the kids Christmas themed pajamas at the beginning of December. It brings a lot of excitment and really helps set the mood for the holiday season. I of course, must document the occasion with photos. Here's some fun photos from the other night...
And let's be honest, this is what the photo shoot really looked like
my oh my, I love Instagram! Pictures are worth a thousand words, right? I love the fact that I can quickly scroll through all my friends photos throughout the day and have a glimpse into their happenings. You'll find me posting quite often, well more than here ;) on Instagram. I invite you to follow me @georgana
Let's face it, the third child changed my priorities quite a bit. The first to go down the drain was regular exercise and second my blog, I'm sure we could throw a few other things on the list. My husband would probably say my housekeeping skills, but let's face it I've never been good at that. Time has flown by and my baby is over a year so I thought I should probably try to get back to blogging. I can't promise how often but hopefully a lot more than it has been. First up, I have to show you my cute kiddos - taken last month.
Yup, I love them to pieces!
Hey Friends! Father's Day is just around the corner and since I haven't purchased a single present yet (I'd better get on top of that) I decided I should make some handmade cards. I am a guest designer this month at Sketches: Creatively Yours and they provided me this great card sketch:
I put a few twists on the sketch and here are three Father's Day cards ready for Sunday. I used the new ADORNit Father papers. TFL!
I LOVE to use sketches when I am creating layouts, it makes scrapbooking so much faster and simpler. I am thrilled to be guest designing this month at Sketches: Creatively Yours. If you're new to their blog, take some time and be inspired. Here's the first sketch along with my interpretation.
And since I love a double page...
Come back next week for a new sketch!
I LOVE this cute Watering Can Patterned Paper. Since I love to fussy cut, this page just jumped right out at me. With a little bit a photo matting, a bit of fussy cutting, and a few jewels here and there this page was created. Tell me what things you love to put on your Springtime pages. ADORNit Supplies: Watering Can 12x12, Bunny Word Play 12x12, Eggs Scattered 12x12, Bunny Stripe Cut Up 12x12, Easter Cut Apart 12x12, White Jewel Droplets.
